Cristiano Ronaldo bags brace for Al Nassr to inch closer to 1,000 career goals

Cristiano Ronaldo scored career goals 918 and 919 on Tuesday during Al Nassr’s 3-1 victory vs. Al Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League as he chases the dream of becoming the first player in history to record 1,000 official goals.

Tuesday’s game was his 92nd for Al Nassr since he debuted for the Saudi giants in January 2023. His brace on Tuesday brings his total goal contributions (goals + assists) for Al Nassr to 101.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot on Thursday during Al Nassr’s 3-1 victory marking his first goal of 2025. The Portuguese star had some fun with his goal as video shows that Ronaldo points and laughs at goalkeeper after scoring.

With the scored tied at 1-1 near the end of the first half, Al Nassr were awarded a penalty kick with Ronaldo set to take it. As he prepared to take the kick the opposing goalkeeper tried to make himself look as big as possible to get into CR7’s head.

The comments were made during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, UAE, on Friday. Ronaldo, who was named Best Middle East Player 2024 at the award show, was asked about where the Saudi League ranks compared to a league like France’s Ligue 1.
