AS Roma suffered a late collapse to lose 2-1 to Fiorentina on Saturday, effectively ending any hopes Jose Mourinho's side had of a top four finish in Serie A.

Roma are sixth in the standings on 60 points from 37 games. They are four points behind AC Milan in fourth, who face Juventus on Sunday. Atalanta, in fifth with 61 points, play Inter Milan later on Saturday.

Both Roma and Fiorentina began the match at a slow pace as they look forward to cup finals in Europe.

WOLVERHAMPTON — Yerry Mina equalized in the 99th minute as relegation-threatened Everton secured a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday and a precious point in their bid to avoid dropping out of the Premier League.

Wolves took the lead in the first half as winger Adama Traore carried the ball from the edge of his own box before his shot was parried into the path of Hwang Hee-Chan, who had a simple finish for his fourth goal of the campaign.

LIVERPOOL — Roberto Firmino scored a dramatic late equalizer in his final appearance at Anfield for Liverpool to keep the Merseyside squad's slim chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League alive with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Firmino, who is one of four players leaving when his contract runs out, scored in the 89th minute to the delight of the crowd who serenaded the Brazilian after the final whistle.

Sheffield Wednesday pulled off the greatest comeback in English Football League playoff history as they overturned a 4-0 first-leg deficit against Peterborough United to reach the League One playoff final via a penalty shootout on Thursday.

Wednesday, who narrowly missed automatic promotion from the third tier and finished 19 points above Peterborough in the regular season, looked down and out after Friday's hammering.

LONDON — Brentford beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at home in the Premier League on Saturday after Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva scored late second-half goals to leave the visitors a point above the relegation zone.

The result leaves Forest in 17th with 30 points, above 18th-placed Leicester City who have a game in hand. Brentford are ninth with 50 points.

It was Brentford who applied the early pressure as Forest keeper Keylor Navas and his defensive line stood firm to deny the home side who struggled in the final third in the first half.

After conceding a late penalty that allowed the Philadelphia Union to take the lead, Los Angeles FC's Kellyn Acosta scored in second-half stoppage time as the teams played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday at Chester, Pa., in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League semifinal series.

The second and final leg of the total-goal series will be played Tuesday in Los Angeles.
