HBO drop ‘Angel City’ trailer — a 3-part behind the scenes docuseries with Natalie Portman and more

We’ve seen how successful and interesting behind-the-scenes documentaries on professional soccer clubs have been. Amazon’s “All or Nothing” and Hulu’s “Welcome to Wrexham” come to mind as the latest success stories.

Now HBO is getting in on the action with their latest soccer docuseries “Angel City” which will follow the Los Angeles-based club’s inaugural season in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Gareth Bale hints at a possible return with newly promoted Wrexham

Season 2 of Welcome to Wrexham is going to be absolutely insane with coverage of the club's wild FA Cup run and historic National League title, but just imagine a third season, covering Wrexham's 2023-24 League Two campaign, with a 34-year-old Gareth Bale starring after coming out of retirement.

That idea seemed entirely preposterous as recently as Monday — when you have a nickname like "The Golfer" you're likely enjoying your time off — but then Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney shared a video of Bale congratulating him on the promotion.

Can Richmond still win the Premier League? The answer might shock Ted Lasso

(S3E5 spoilers below)

As writers on the series, Jason Sudeikis (Ted), Brett Goldstein (Roy) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) have always stressed that Ted Lasso isn't a show about soccer, it's a show about these characters who just so happen to be involved in the running of a professional soccer club.

Wrexham on the verge of promotion after 5-goal thriller, PK save at 90+7'

It was billed as the biggest game in National League history, and Monday's top-of-the-table clash between Wrexham and Notts County — with both clubs entering on 100 points, having scored 106 goals each and directly battling for the only automatic birth into the EFL — didn't disappoint.

With Wrexham's Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney both in attendance, a five-goal thriller played out at the Racecourse Ground that left the Red Dragons in complete control of their promotion destiny.

Ted Lasso's subtle, yet touching tribute to Grant Wahl

The newest episode of Apple TV’s hit show Ted Lasso features an extremely niche yet beautiful tribute to legendary sportswriter Grant Wahl, who died while covering the World Cup in Qatar. Season three’s fourth episode ended with a message, “In memory of Grant Wahl,” but it was an earlier moment that eagle-eyed viewers will remember most.

Manchester United to play Wrexham in San Diego as part of U.S. summer tour

Manchester United will face non-league Wrexham AFC in San Diego as a part of the club's already announced summer tour to the United States, the Premier League club said on Monday.

Fifth-tier National League side Wrexham have became famous after Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2020 with the efforts of the owners being tracked by a documentary series called Welcome to Wrexham.

Former Watford and England goalkeeper Ben Foster joins Wrexham

Wrexham's Hollywood owners have secured the A-list signing of former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster until the end of the season, the fifth-tier club said on Thursday.

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have tried unsuccessfully to lure the 39-year-old Foster out of retirement following an injury to first-choice Hugo Lloris.

But Wrexham have pulled off a significant signing as they aim to secure their place back in the English Football League.

Kim Kardashian's week: Dooms Arsenal in Europa League, gets Messi booed off the pitch

Based on how preposterously good Arsenal and Lionel Messi have been this season, there's only one possible explanation for their respective failures this week: tourist Kim Kardashian.

On Thursday, the 42-year-old socialite made her presence felt at the Emirates with her son Saint (the second-oldest of Kim and Kanye's four children). Cruising at the top of the Premier League table and targeting European glory, Arsenal suffered a shock elimination to a Sporting side that's sitting fourth in Liga Portugal.

Jason Sudeikis talks Ted Lasso series finale and possible spinoffs

Back in August of 2013, NBC Sports got American viewers fired up for the 2013-14 Premier League season with a surreal piece of absurdist humor that landed well: Jason Sudeikis as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur in the "An American Coach in London" ad.

It's still entirely unbelievable that 10 years later that character has spawned a comedy-drama TV series thats first season received 20 nominations at the 73rd Emmy Awards before its second season earned 20 nominations at the 74th Emmy Awards.

FIFA's appointment of supermodel Adriana Lima leaves former players stunned

FIFA's appointment of supermodel Adriana Lima as its global fan ambassador in a Women's World Cup year is "baffling" and sends the wrong message to players and fans, former FIFA Council member Moya Dodd said.
