The Champions League quarterfinal draw took place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland and has left some very entertaining matchups with the first legs taking place on the 11th-12th of April and the second legs on the 18th-19th of April:

Borussia Dortmund will be missing a key piece in their attack at the most critical point of the season as Marco Reus has sustained a thigh injury that will sideline him for a month.

Missing a world-class talent like Reus will not be good for a side that is still at risk of dropping out of the Bundesliga Champions League places. Dortmund currently sit third with only three points separating them from fifth-place Hertha Berlin.

Christian Pulisic is very good at soccer. Many of us have known this for quite some time, but the secret was really out when the 18-year-old exploded for a goal and two assists in Borussia Dortmund's 4-0 win against Benfica in the Champions League Wednesday.

There's no hiding Pulisic's talent any more, certainly not from this reporter who was in the press box at the game.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick, with two of those strikes being assisted by Christian Pulisic, and the 18-year-old American registered his first Champions League goal as Borussia Dortmund eased past Benfica and into the Champions League quarterfinals, winning 4-1 on aggregate.

Dortmund were kicking themselves after throwing away a number of great opportunities in the first leg and found themselves trailing 1-0 in the tie before today’s match. However, those frustrations were quickly forgotten when Aubameyang opened the scoring in the fourth minute.

A beautifully composed finish from 18-year-old American attacker Christian Pulisic has given Dortmund a 2-1 aggregate lead over Benfica in the Champions League round of 16. Pulisic provided the assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and almost had another with a great pass to the striker, but he’s now gotten himself on the scoresheet with a wonderful finish. 

Borussia Dortmund have leveled their Champions League round of 16 tie at 1-1 after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored with a header. A Dortmund corner kick was driven into the box, and American forward Christian Pulisic provided a deft flick with his head to find Aubameyang free to score the equalizer.

18-year-old American attacker Christian Pulisic scored his third Bundesliga goal of the campaign and registered his fifth assist in Borussia Dortmund’s 6-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. 

Pulisic entered the match in the 44th minute after an injury to Marco Reus forced him off. The German international is expected to be sidelined until April with his latest injury setback. 

With Chicharito entering the match in the 66th minute and Wendell pulling a goal back for Bayer to make the scoreline 3-2 in the 74th minute, Pulisic’s composed finish dashed any hopes of a comeback.

Mario Gotze, the 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacker who is best known for scoring the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final, has been sidelined “for the time being” with “metabolic disturbances” according to a statement from his club.
