Child Invades Pitch To Console Defeated Goalkeeper

Defensa y Justicia suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Boca Juniors on Sunday evening, a fifth straight match without a win in Argentina’s Primera División. Luis Vázquez dinked the winner past keeper Ezequiel Unsain in the 92nd minute to secure all three points for the visitors.

After the final whistle blew, Unsain fell to his knees, disconsolate over his role in the defeat.

The goalkeeper was then consoled not by a teammate, coach or even an opponent, but by a young boy from the stands. A child pitch invader consoled Unsain, and the touching moment was caught on camera.

Fan In Argentina Yells For Manager To Make A Sub, And He Listens!

In the Argentinian first division, a match between Argentinos Juniors and Unión on Sunday gave us perhaps the funniest moment of the weekend.

The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Argentinos Juniors with a Gabriel Ávalos brace, but that wasn’t necessarily the highlight of the game.

Argentinos Juniors fan suggests sub and it works!

With 20 minutes left in the game, a conversation between Gabriel Milito (Argentinos Juniors manager) and a home fan in the stands decided what would be the next sub of the game.

Watch: VAR review gets player sent off after squeezing opponent's crotch

A game between Lanús and Vélez Sarsfield gave us perhaps the most random, yet funny use of VAR we’ve seen yet.

When the game was 1-1, a cheeky attempt from a Lanús player to nutmeg resulted in a scuffle in the beginning of the second half.

Nothing too out of the ordinary for soccer in Argentina. Or so we thought.

Nothing Sings Quite Like A Left-Footed Volley Off A Cross From The Right Wing

Central Córdoba swept past Rosario Central 3-0 on Monday night in a match that featured a candidate for the Argentine Primera División's goal of the season.

In the 23rd minute, 25-year-old winger Francisco González Metilli opened the scoring off a driven cross-field switch from Renzo López. Metilli let the ball run across his body before unleashing a left-footed volley from 18 yards out that flew across the face of goal and inside the far post.

The visual effect of Metilli's strike is basically just the Bundesliga logo — this is pure technique.

Nepotist? Me?? Carlos Tevez Gets His First Job As Head Coach And Adds Three Brothers To His Staff

Corner Kick Routine Asks A Lot Of One Man, But He's Up For The Challenge

I don't think the game has a more audacious plan of action than the corner kick that's aimed at — rather than the forest of limbs and heads gathered in the area — a solitary loner stationed outside the box.

The ploy requires perfection on the delivery. If it's inaccurate, the opponent wins possession and the counterattack is on. If it's accurate but without pace, the opponent rushes out, closes down the shot and the counterattack is on.
