Report: Thierry Henry interested in USMNT job

Former France national team star Thierry Henry, who has ties to MLS as a coach and player, has expressed interest in the United States men's national team coaching vacancy, ESPN reported Thursday.

Henry, 45, scored 51 goals in 123 games for France from 1997-2010 and played in the World Cup four times. A star for clubs like Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal and Barcelona in Europe, Henry played 122 games for the New York Red Bulls from 2010-14.

Christian Pulisic sounds off on USMNT direction

Speaking with ESPN's Graham Hunter in an interview at his home in London, Christian Pulisic gave voice to what many are presumably thinking ahead of a pivotal 2023 calendar year (at least I know I am).

Daryl Dike celebrates USMNT call-up with an excellent volley for West Brom

The USMNT's ongoing quest for a dependable, goalscoring No. 9 took a dramatic turn on Wednesday with the release of the Nations League squad: the World Cup trio of Jesús Ferreira, Josh Sargent and Haji Wright were all omitted while Daryl Dike and Ricardo Pepi got call ups.

Gio Reyna headlines USMNT Nations League squad

Gio Reyna and Christian Pulisic were among 24 players named in the United States squad for a training camp in Orlando ahead of the CONCACAF Nations League final four, U.S. Soccer said on Wednesday.

The U.S. are bidding to retain the title and qualify for this year's Gold Cup.

It will be the full squad's first meet-up since last year's World Cup.

"We come out of the World Cup knowing we're capable of more, and we're excited to keep moving forward in this group," said interim manager Anthony Hudson, who replaced former coach Gregg Berhalter in January.

Ted Lasso S3E1 review: Lots of poop jokes but premiere doesn't stink

The final season of Ted Lasso kicked off Wednesday with "Smells Like Mean Spirit" — a premiere centered around how AFC Richmond are being picked to finish last in the new Premier League season.

I would pick them to finish 20th too. It's the same squad that got relegated, they haven't made any transfers, Nate's gone and Ted's commitment to the entire thing is wavering. But no one's cared this much about preseason rankings since Josh Wolff laminated the MLS predictions and used it as straight gasoline for Austin FC's fire.

Death, taxes and Erling Haaland breaking goalscoring records

As Erling Haaland watched the fourth official slowly put up his board and tell the world the Nowegian’s day was done, Haaland left his short conversation with Kevin De Bruyne to make way for Julián Álvarez. It was a completely fair decision by Pep Guardiola. Álvarez is a fantastic striker, and a World Cup winner lest we forget, but his one crime is not being Erling Haaland.

5 burning questions ahead of the Ted Lasso Season 3 premiere

The Ted Lasso Season 3 return date of Wednesday, March 15 on Apple TV Plus is upon us, and I've got five burning questions before watching the premiere. There are obviously spoilers below, so quickly binge Season 2 (like I did this past weekend) if you haven't already.

Otherwise, here are my thoughts before the final season of Ted Lasso.

5 questions for Ted Lasso Season 3

#1. What is a fitting end to Ted Lasso's journey?

2026 World Cup format revealed: 4 more groups, 40 more games, 11 billion more dollars

In America, there's a very sizable contingent of once-every-four-year fans who usually only get their soccer fix via the rare SportsCenter highlight or through that one friend who's always at the Irish pub early on Saturdays. But when the World Cup rolls around, this crowd appreciates and gets down with the month-long spectacle, making the U.S. feel as soccer-mad as any other country on the planet.

Sorry Austin FC, it's impossible not to cheer for Violette AC on Tuesday

On Tuesday night we get the job done, and by "we" I mean Violette AC and all the CONCACAF Champions League sickos that fell head over heels for the club last Tuesday when they hammered Austin FC 3-0 in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.

De Bruyne defends Haaland from criticism: ‘We don't need to complain about Erling in any way’

MANCHESTER, England - Pep Guardiola has won nine major trophies at Manchester City but the Spaniard said his managerial era at the Premier League club will be defined by whether he delivers their first Champions League title.

Guardiola has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups at City but European success has eluded the manager who won the trophy twice as Barcelona manager, with the English club's best finish being runners-up in 2021.
