LONDON, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League with a dominant but chaotic 6-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday thanks to doubles from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Diaz met Trent Alexander-Arnold's beautiful cross with a diving header to open the scoring before Alexis Mac Allister nodded home from close range to double Liverpool's lead, but James Maddison pulled one back four minutes before half-time.

With Spurs leading 3-2, the South Korean superstar was taking his time walking over to the corner flag for a set piece. Martínez, to the displeasure of the home crowd, went over and told Son to hurry up.

The United defender would instantly regret telling Son to get on with the corner kick as the Spurs forward then scored directly from the set piece.

Ange Postecoglou's Spurs climbed to eighth in the table on 10 points after six games, while beleaguered United, who saw captain Bruno Fernandes sent off in the 42nd minute for a high challenge on James Maddison, are 12th with seven points.
