This Has To Be One Of The Weirdest Ways To Score Ever

Was this the weirdest goal ever? It has to be in consideration.

Out of the Israeli Premier League comes this dramatic and unusual match winner on Saturday.

Late in the Maccabi Petah Tikva vs. Maccabi Netanya match, Senegal international Issa Cissokho, the older brother of former French international Aly Cissokho, was down injured, struggling to get up.

Cissokho’s Petach-Tikva teammate, Habib Habibou stayed with Cissokho, trying to get his teammates, opponents and referee to stop play.

But play went on, because, as all soccer players are taught, you play to the whistle. Habibou certainly knows that.

So when play continued on and a cross was spilled right to Habibou, the Central African striker pounced.

As soon as Habibou scored the completely legal goal — an 87th-minute winner, mind you — he immediately returned to his fallen teammate, who doesn’t seem to be too seriously injured as he was looking up and appeared to be about to get up to celebrate before deciding to stay down.

The only way this goal would’ve been better would have been if Cissokho had been the one to get up and score.

Maccabi Petah Tikva won the match 1-0 to move up to sixth place in the IPL standings, leapfrogging Maccabi Netanya in the process.
