The Weekend Review (March 7, 2016)

Premier League

Tottenham 2-2 Arsenal

Spurs and the Gunners were looking to win this game to get closer to Leicester in the race for the Premier League. The 2-2 draw gives the Foxes a comfortable five-point lead after their triumph against Watford 1-0. Also, Manchester United lost and the Champions League is going away for them, since they probably can't reach fourth place Manchester City.

Bundesliga

Dortmund were five points away from Bayern Munich before this game and this was the perfect opportunity  to close the gap in the Bundesliga and put pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side. However, after their draw, 0-0, everything remains the same and it is likely that Bayern will win the Bundesliga. Chicharito's Bayer Leverkusen tied 3-3 against Augsburg and are five points away from third place Hertha Berlin.

La Liga

Real Madrid 7-1 Celta. Cristiano shut all the doubters up in Madrid with a four-goal show and fans were relieved after a very exciting win against Celta. The only problem for them is that Barcelona is in the same league and this makes it almost impossible for any other team to win it this year. Betis defeated Granada and are almost saved from relegation, while Granada will most likely play in the Segunda Division next year.

Serie A

Napoli defeated Chievo 3-1 and kept their hopes to win the Scudetto alive, yet Juventus won too so the distance between the two remains the same. Things seem complicated for the celeste side since Juventus is looking stronger than ever. Also, Roma defeated Fiorentina and are now third.

Liga MX

Monterrey defeated Tigres in el Clásico Regiomontano, to remain leaders in Liga MX. Cuauhtémoc Blanco said goodbye with America in a comfortable win over Monarcas. And Chivas finally won their first game of the season against Queretaro.
