Hi, I’m Giselle Cesin with The18 and this is Hablaliga MX. Today we’re celebrating notable foreign players who have come to Mexico to play in Liga MX. Here are five of our favorites:
Pep Guardiola
In 2006, When he was in training to be a manager, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spent a season with Dorados de Sinaloa, making 10 appearances and scoring one goal.
Ronaldinho
Brazilian legend Ronaldinho made 25 appearances and scored eight goals for Queretaro during the 2014-2015 season.
Eric Wynalda
TV analyst and US Soccer presidential candidate Eric Wynalda made five appearances for Leon in 1999.
Eusebio
Portuguese legend Eusebio, who won the 1965 Ballon d’Or and was the top scorer at the 1966 World Cup, made 10 appearances and scored one goal for Monterrey in 1975.
Tab Ramos
One of the main candidates for the permanent US Men’s National Team manager job, Tab Ramos currently coaches the USA U-23s. He made 35 appearances for Tigres during the 1995-1996 season, scoring two goals.
