Gio Reyna, son of former USMNT captain Claudio Reyna, has opened his account in the Bundesliga.

The 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacker scored a worldie in February, becoming the youngest player to score in the DFB Pokal. He also looked electric in preseason, scoring and setting up goals like a seasoned veteran.

In Dortmund’s Bundesliga opener on Saturday, Reyna combined with a fellow teenager to score the team’s first goal of the campaign. Jude Bellingham, a 17-year-old English box-to-box midfielder, set up Reyna, playing in the No. 10 role, for a delightful strike in the 35th minute against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Gio Reyna First Bundesliga Goal

The goal made Reyna the second-youngest American to score in the Bundesliga. You can probably guess who was the youngest, but in case you need a refresher, you can read about it here.

Dortmund led 1-0 at halftime. If you’re looking for the match, the Bundesliga is now on ESPN+ instead of FOX. Read more about how to watch here.
