Goalkeepers sometimes find themselves in situations where they need to leave their line and leave their blessid net unattended. This is where defenders such as David Luiz have shown the heart and effort that all defenders play with. This past weekend Bastia French Ligue 1 defender Mathieu Peybernes made possibly the best ever goal line clearance, not once, but twice! The saves ended up deciding the game as Bastia went on to win 1-0.
For all the defenders out there, we did some digging to find the best goal line clearances of the 2015 campaign. There is nothing like the pure anticipation and horror of watching the ball tracking the goal line hopelessly. But there is nothing better then a swooping defender coming in at the last second denying the other teams hopes and dreams. This one’s for the back line!
