Diego Maradona is known for a lot of things. Compliments are not one of them.
That's why it was so surprising that Maradona, during a recent visit to the Vatican to, in one of the great ironies I have ever seen, to promote an education charity, (Not that I am making fun of education. Education is very important) was fawning over the Pope like the man saved his life. Who knows? Maybe he did.
"The Holy Father treats me like a brother and he treats everyone the same way. He kisses everyone and he hugs everyone," Fox Soccer reported Maradona said. "He doesn't have much free time, and he works a ton, but he always finds time for everyone."
Well it's nice to know that Pope Francis, himself a big soccer fan, has Maradona's support.
"I think we all now realize he's a (star). ... I'm Francis' top fan," Maradona said, according to Fox Soccer.
