On March 9, Inter Milan celebrates the 113-year anniversary of its founding. In an effort to give the club a modern global identity, Inter announced earlier this month that a branding change was on its way, including a new Inter Milan badge.
There was also a rumor that the club’s full name — Football Club Internazionale Milano — would be shortened to “Inter Milano,” but CEO Alessandro Antonello quashed that talk by saying, “Inter will not change its name. The club has been working for over a year on a marketing project, based on the historical values of Inter, which aims to bring together and involve its millions of fans and further strengthen the link with the city of Milan.”
But that new logo is on its way, and Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport has captured a leak of the design that looks like the real thing.
Here’s Inter’s logo history up until the most recent look, which debuted in 2014. I wish the 1978 badge played a much larger role in the rebrand.

Here’s the new one, which does away with the “FC” and takes on a monochrome look while also returning the star above the badge (representative of 10 Serie A titles with the club stuck on 18 since 2009-10).
