Yeovil Town striker Diallang Jaiyesimi, on loan from EFL Championship side Norwich City, thought he had put his team 1-0 up against Championship heavyweight Aston Villa in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The goal came after a corner from Yeovil was whipped in and caused a goalmouth scramble, a shot cleared off the line in what looked like a potential handball from Villa left back Neil Taylor and then rebounded in by Jaiyesimi.
The travelling Villa fans were behind the goal, and, of course, Jaiyesimi jumped on the Fortnite celebration bandwagon and told the Villa fans to “take the L.”
But, as karma would have it for doing such a bad celebration, the goal did not stand as the referee deemed Villa midfielder Glenn Whelan was fouled during the corner.
It was a harsh call against Yeovil, but the team got another chance to redeem itself after Villa center back Tommy Elphick brought down Yeovil captain Omar Sowunmi in the box. However, Alex Fisher could not convert the penalty as Andre Moreira came up big for the away side. Villa snatched a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Conor Hourihane, as Yeovil was left to rue what could have been.
We should all collectively make an agreement that the only player allowed to do the “take the L” celebration is Antoine Griezmann. This should serve as a warning to any player that isn’t Griezmann: this celebration will cause instant karma and you will lose the match.
