History was made at CPKC Stadium Friday night as Temwa Chawinga became the first player to launch a ball outside the building and into the Missouri River. KC Current would defeat the Houston Dash 2-0.
The Chawinga river ball shot saw her effort soar over the goal, over the stands and eventually become aquatic. The home fans went nuts.

Hell yeah.
Chawinga would make up for the missed opportunity bagging a three-minute brace late in the second half to extend the team’s unbeaten streak to 17 games. That marks a new NWSL record.
HOW DOES SHE MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY?

ELEVEN goals this season for Temwa Chawinga!

Chawinga’s two goals brings her goal tally to 11 this season. The Malawi star joined the Current at the start of 2024 from Wuhan Jianghan in the Chinese Women’s Super League. The 25-year-old has only needed 15 games to light up the NWSL.
