There’s long been an unbridgeable divide in the Special Relationship when it comes to association football (or as the Brits say for short, soccer), but that gap has been narrowing exponentially for years now. Americans now consume the Premier League as voraciously as their friends across the pond, finish above the English in World Cup group play and even provide the EPL with some of its best managers!
And while the British have been blessed with a myriad of reasons to shame their American counterparts and remain forever ignorant of anything that goes on outside of New York City, Disney World and Los Angeles, we have far more in common with each other than divides us.
