United States women’s national team forward Midge Purce humorously weighed in on Canada Soccer’s drone scandal joking that they needed to “cheat better.”
Canada’s soccer programs are in hot water after the women’s team were discovered spying on New Zealand’s private practices at the Paris Olympics. It’s now been reported that both the men’s and women’s have a history of using drones to spy on opponents.
Purce appeared on former USWNT teammate Sam Mewis’ podcast “The Women’s Game” and discussed the controversial “drone-gate.”
The Gotham FC star jokingly asked how Canada didn’t think they would get caught and suggested they seek help from the NFL’s New England Patriots who have a history of cheating.

Bill Belichick would’ve never been caught if he was in charge of Canada’s spying operations!
Purce missed out on the USWNT Olympic roster after tearing her ACL in March.
