Blackburn Rovers defeated Derby County 2-1 on Saturday in the English Championship, but the main storyline from the game involves the unleashing of American mascot ‘Mackerel Jordan’ on an unsuspecting British public.
A product of the “ZOOperstars!”, an entertainment group that puts on half-time shows around the world, ‘Mackerel Jordan’ is just one of the many characters they have on offer. Others include "Mia Hammster", "Shaquille O’Seal" and "Barack Ollama".
Jordan emerged at half-time at Derby’s Pride Park Stadium, outfitted in his Chicago Bulls No. 23 jersey. This was probably more than enough to have Rams supporters questioning what in the hell they were about to witness.
With Derby being mired at the bottom of the table with only six points from nine matches, Jordan’s performance turned out to be the best at the ground this year.

Mackerel Jordan is, according to the Zooperstars! website, “known to take a chomp out of the competition”. It’s also noted that “his oversized eyes are always giving a wink to the female fans”. Easy, Mackerel Jordan.
You may be dressed as the GOAT, but we’re all slowly catching on to your shenanigans.
