On Monday, Newcastle United supporters had a big week ahead of them. On Wednesday they would face off against Premier League foe Tottenham for a spot in the semifinals of the Capital One Cup, and four days later they would take on rival Sunderland in what is one of the most intense rivalries in the Prem.
Well, Wednesday didn't work out for the Magpies. They suffered a 0-4 drubbing to Spurs and now supporters have no choice but to turn their heads towards the Derby this weekened. Newcastle has shown promise this year, handing Chelsea their first defeat en route to their 8th place spot in the Premier League.
Back in Novemeber, "Third Films" came out with an epic video that takes you through a match day at the Tyne-Wear Derby. The video is put together nicely. It starts out showing the calm before the storm and the intensity slowly rises from there. Match day experiences differ around the world, especially with rivalries, but the Tyne-Wear derby is a unique experience. Sorry Arsenal and Liverpool, but if we had the choice, we would go to St James’ Park on Sunday.
