Could this be the season someone in France knocks PSG off their perch? The Parisiens have dominated Ligue 1 in recent years, but, after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, PSG might be ripe for the picking. Maybe they'll falter and allow someone to challenge or even beat the team that won Ligue 1 by 24 points last season.
Lol nope.
PSG's first competitive match of the 2016-2017 season was for the French Super Cup against Lyon, and they dominated. The 4-1 win reminded the rest of France who exactly is in charge here.
The win came on the same day Liverpool's 4-0 trashing of Barcelona gifted PSG another trophy, the International Champions Cup, which is a pre-season tournament but you still get a shiny thing if you win.
Layvin Kurzawa and Serge Aurier might be the best fullback pairing in the world. Angel di Maria is by far the most creative player in France. Hatem Ben Arfa looks like a force. Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore are destroying people on the wing. Their midfield is not to be trifled with. Really, their only question mark is (as usual) David Luiz, the world's foremost offensive center back.
It will be more of the same in France this season.
