As part of new FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s mission of “getting football back to the heart of FIFA”, a team of FIFA Legends took on the Mexico All-Stars to celebrate both the 66th FIFA Congress in Mexico City and the 50th anniversary of the historic Azteca Stadium.
The FIFA Legends squad was coached by Jose Mourinho, who came storming out of his technical area to make a tackle near the end of the match, and contained the likes of Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf and Mia Hamm.
The Mexico All-Stars boasted the talents of Oswaldo Sanchez, Jared Borgetti and Jorge Campos. The home side emerged victorious, 9-8, following a spectacular game-winning goal from former Mexico goalkeeper Campos.

Fans in attendance were also treated to some spectacular skills and a goal from Ronaldinho. While the 36-year-old Brazilian maestro certainly doesn’t appear to be training for another professional contract, he remains an irrepressible showman.
