Everyone's Second Favorite Club, Leicester City, Invites You To Party This Sunday

The wild party surrounding Leicester City’s march towards their first ever Premier League title is only going to amplify between now Sunday’s 9 a.m. EST kickoff against Manchester United. Fans of the club, both long-standing and new to the bandwagon, are preparing to go bonkers should Leicester claim all three points against the 20-time English champions and clinch the trophy with two matches still to play.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from their imperious form to date, it’s that it’s going to happen. It simply must, and you’re not going to want to miss it. Drag yourself out of bed, and celebrate a very special Sunday Funday.

The Foxes have quickly become everyone’s second favorite club, apart from Tottenham supporters, heading into the weekend. The only upset Leicester supporter might be one bettor who cashed out on a 5000/1 bet after the first match of the season, settling for chump change rather than collecting a fortune.

In Leicester, fans have been denied the chance to congregate at the King Power stadium to watch Sunday’s match on the big screens by the curmudgeons and suits of the Premier League. Tickets for Leicester’s one remaining home match, against Everton on May 7, have been made available through online resale websites for as much as $4,300.

Some particularly capitalistic season-ticket holders have been banned by the club for attempting to illegally resell their tickets at astronomical rates.

Outside the clutches of Sky Sports and BT Sport, it’s once again a good time to celebrate living and consuming the Premier League in America.

If you’re looking for the ultimate celebration stateside, look no further than the New York Foxes, the first Leicester City supporters group founded in the US. The fan club can trace its roots all the way back to the rise of Adele, in 2011. According to ESPN FC, their watch party to kickoff the start of the Premier League season attracted two supporters. Now, they regularly get over 20 people coming to enjoy the matches.

That 900% increase has most likely been occurring all around this great country of ours — American fans of Barcelona beware, Leicester supporters are coming for you.

In Italy, over 63,000 people have accepted a Facebook invitation to travel to Leicester to celebrate the Foxes victory, a party set for Sunday, May 15. News of Francesco Totti possibly joining up with fellow Italian Claudio Ranieri has certified Leicester’s standing as “una favola nella favola”, a fairly tale within a fairy tale

In Argentina, Leonardo Ulloa’s Leicester are all the rage following Ulloa’s two goals in their 4-0 victory over Swansea City. The only complaint for Argentines is that Ulloa was unfairly left out of the PFA Team of the Year.

It’s been claimed that Manchester United boast 325 million supporters living in the Asia Pacific region, but Leicester are beginning to take a bite out of that number as evidenced by fans in Bangkok flocking to the HQ of Leicester’s primary sponsor, King Power.

Even the sight of employees at Thailand’s leading duty-free travel retail group during regular business hours is enough to remind supporters of the fantastic play of their darling Foxes.

Meanwhile, the official club shop at King Power Stadium has run out of replica kits, leaving a worldwide jersey shortage with Puma being unable to supply the demand. According to the club website, the “only available apparel from this season’s uniforms is a pair of blue socks.”

Around the world, the party is just getting started. If you’re unable to book a flight to England over the coming weeks, Vardy Bombs and pints of Vardy’s Volley should suffice at home. If you’re unsure of how to celebrate, just add some blue curaçao to it.
