Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo next season. After plenty of rumors surrounding Ramsey’s potential switch to the Italian giant seemed like outlandish speculation, news came out Monday that the Welshman signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus.

Apart from it being a great move for Ramsey, he’s going to be the highest paid British footballer, at a whopping $515,000 dollars per week, if reports are to be believed. That’s $84 per minute. Absolute madness.

Fair play to Ramsey, who is arguably Arsenal’s most versatile midfielder. He’s occasionally outshined Mesut Özil and it’s a failure on Arsenal’s part to not give him a new deal. The kicker for Arsenal is the Gunners aren’t getting a single penny for the transfer since Ramsey will be out of contract in the summer.
OFFICIAL: Juventus have confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will join the club on a four-year deal from Arsenal at the end of the 2018/19 season.

$514,000 a week is a lot for Ramsey, but it’s obvious Juventus thinks highly of him. He is talented and has scored and assisted in some important Arsenal goals in the past few years. Ramsey being at the level of Juventus is another story however.

Ramsey will now be the third Welshman to play for Juventus after Ian Rush and John Charles. It will be interesting to see where Ramsey fits in the Juventus lineup, if at all.
Massimiliano Allegri tends to go for a 4-3-3, 4-3-1-2 or a 4-4-2 and Juventus isn’t short on central midfielders. Blaise Matuidi, Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic and Emre Can all can play in the middle of the park. If Juventus is paying Ramsey that much, he’s gotta force his way into the starting lineup somehow. But it doesn’t seem very likely, according to the internet.

In fact, all the internet seems to be doing is make fun of the move.

Regardless of whether or not the move was right for Arsenal or Juventus, it’s great deal for good ol’ Aaron Ramsey. Sitting on the bech or playing regularly, his bank account will surely be happy.
