So, a match in an Argentinian tournament called the Copa Ciudad de Plata made it to the 93rd minute without incident. And then there was an incident. A flying karate kick incident.
The kicker is Alvaro Pereira, who has played a not-unimportant role for the Uruguayan National Team over the years and had an excellent 2014 World Cup. Here, though, he shows us that he's adept at kicking things other than soccer balls.
Alvaro Pereira's Flying Karate Kick
Pereira flew in there like a man on a mission, damn the consequences (which were ample). But, this being a highly competitive atmosphere with tension running high and tempers running low, the other team didn't just leave it at that.
And so it came to pass that Estudiantes (Pereira's team) and Gimnasia la Plata (the other team) engaged in the biggest soccer brawl of 2016 so far. It's early, sure, but this one will be hard to top in the next 11 months.

They suspended the game, obviously.
