Chicharito's tenure at Bayer Leverkusen seems to be going well so far. He added two goals to his season tally and Leverkusen walked away with a point against Roma in the Champions League, thanks largely to the Chicharito brace. Chicharito's two goals put Bayer up 2-0, but Roma stormed back to go up 4-2. Then it was Bayer's turn to come back, tying the game up 4-4, where it ended.
His first goal was simple enough, a penalty, but it will come as a releif to Chicharito fans who remember him slipping while taking a penalty against Club Brugge in what ended up being his last game for Manchester United.

His second goal was a little better, coming from open play, although he did have his first shot saved. The second shot, though, was right on the money. He also barely missed wide with a curling effort late in the game that would have won it for Bayer.

It appears that Chicharito's German adventure is going swimmingly. They can still make it out of the group, and with Chicharito in form, they could very well find themselves in the knockout round. Bayer sit second in Group E with four points (Barcelona have seven, BATE Borisov have three and Roma have two). Chicharito's brace comes just over a week after he scored to help Mexico defeat the United States in the Confederations Cup playoff. He's had a great run of games and should look to continue that. Leverkusen next play Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Oct. 24.
