Add another zero to Antoine Griezmann’s transfer fee. After the Atletico Madrid forward leads France to 2018 World Cup glory while winning the tournament’s Golden Boot, he will now cost either Barcelona, Manchester United or PSG roughly sixty-eight trillion dollars.
It’s a princely sum to pay, but as showcased here and on the evidence of last five years of European football, it’s totally worth it. The Greasy Spice is the man your club needs, the man your father wishes you were and the boyfriend everyone wishes they had.
Atletico are the Europa League favorites (unless you’re into Granit Xhaka), and they really hammered that point home with their 8-1 aggregate victory over Lokomotiv Moscow, complete with a 5-1 second leg victory at RZD Arena on Thirsty Thursday.
Atletico’s fifth and final goal of the day was scored by Griezmann in the 85th minute. Angel Correa setup his teammate with a crafty sombrero flick on the edge of the area before feeding Greasy Spice at the top of the box. The French forward then clipped a delightful chip over Anton Kochenkov in goal. Tasty.

Griezmann is already taking a liking to Russia.
