A two-goal performance from Cristiano Ronaldo saw Real Madrid defeat Getafe in La Liga play Saturday, and the Portuguese star recorded another remarkable individual achievement with goals number 300 and 301 in Spanish league play, putting him alongside Barcelona star Lionel Messi as the only members of the milestone club.
Real moved four points above Valencia in third place, and manager Zinedine Zidane will be pleased to have had both Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on the scoresheet before Tuesday’s trip to Paris to play a Neymar-less PSG.
Bale scored the opener in the 24th minute, and Ronaldo doubled Real’s advantage just before halftime after working a shooting opportunity with a series of shimmies.
GOOOOOOAAAAAL!!!! "...Recalibrates, recalibrates and then detonates". Depending which count you take as the official one this is either @Cristiano's 300 or 301. We all know @officialpepe counts this as CR7's 300. pic.twitter.com/i0jovwXrIh

Real had their advantage halved by Getafe’s Francisco Portillo from the spot, but Ronaldo scored his brace in the 78th minute to ensure all three points.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAL!!! @Cristiano scores the 2nd of the goal, for now we'll call him Mr.3️0️1️. @realmadriden wants to put this one to sleep 3-1. pic.twitter.com/i0p9N5kSRh

In his last eight matches, Ronaldo now has 14 goals and two assists. After a slow start to league play, he now has 16 goals in 21 league games. His record in the Champions League this season is, of course, ridiculous — 11 goals from seven appearances.
You wouldn’t bet against him adding to his Champions League total on Tuesday. Things look pretty bleak for PSG at the moment.
