Aston Villa will host Manchester United this weekend in their first home opener match at Villa Park and will look for a second win despite many pivotal players leaving the club. At least Christian Benteke will start for Villa as a striker, right? As far as Neil Warnock is concerned, Tim Sherwood will play Benteke up front with Fabian Delph right behind him in central midfield.
Recently in a morning interview talk show on talkSPORT, Neil Warnock predicted the now Liverpool striker to start for his former club when Villa takes on United. We get it, taking time off from a managing career can fuzzy your memory a bit, but come on, Benteke was one of the biggest transfers in the Premier League this season.
Warnock was quoted saying, “the way they are at the minute, I am expecting a dour, horrible game. With hardly a chance from Man United, and Man United winning 1-0. I hope Benteke starts..."
Wise words from the former Crystal Palace and QPR manager. We definitely can’t wait to see this match up, especially when Christian Benteke makes his miraculous come back in claret and blue.
Thanks for the banter, Neil.
