Sebastian Giovinco is extremely good at free kicks. The little Italian is as good as just about anybody in Europe, barring the truly world-class free kick-takers. He's certainly the best free kick-taker in MLS.
Giovinco displayed his exceptional talents in the 72nd minute with Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls knotted at 1-1 Monday.
Bang.

It is really hard to get a soccer ball up and over a wall like that and back down into the goal, let alone with good enough placement to beat a professional goalkeeper. And Joel Robles is not a bad goalkeeper.
Giovinco's free kick proved the winner, and Toronto FC have a sizeable advantage to take back to Toronto for the return leg in the MLS Cup quarterfinals. A win plus two away goals means the Red Bulls will have to either win 2-0 or score three and win in Toronto to advance to the semi-finals.
Toronto FC will probably not have any trouble protecting their lead, though. Especially if Sebastian Giovinco gets over a free kick in a dangerous area.
