There is going to be a movie about FIFA.
No, not that godawful United Passions movie, which we here at the18.com couldn’t stand either. This film is about the corruption scandal.
Teaming up to make the film will be Hollywood A-Listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, along with Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady and Darin Friedman. A writer and director are attached as well.
Such is the anticipation surrounding this hot topic, the film will be based on a book that hasn’t even been published yet. The book, Houses of Deceit is being written by Buzzfeed reporter Ken Bensinger is set to be released in 2017.
Houses of Deceit will be based on a 2014 Buzzfeed article by Bensinger that details the life of American FIFA whistleblower Chuck Blazer. No casting decisions have been made yet, although Bensinger says he envisions someone like John Goodman for the role of Blazer, as he would bring fury and comedy to the role. Anyone who’s seen the Big Lebowski I’m sure would agree.
So, one more time, just because it’s so fun to quote Good Will Hunting.
“How do you like them…”
Nevermind, I’ll let Matt Damon do it.
Look out FIFA, Hollywood’s got your number!
