With two games to spare, Chelsea have clinched the Premier League title, their second in the past three years. After finishing a meager 10th last year under Jose Mourinho, manager Antonio Conte injected new life into the club, and there was never much doubt that they would lift the trophy once the calendar turned.
Tottenham’s nine-game winning streak in the spring put some pressure on the Blues, but their quality ultimately triumphed. It looked like Chelsea would have to wait another day, as their match at West Brom was tied with ten minutes to play. But Michy Batshuayi found the back of the net with a sliding shot in the 82nd minute, and Chelsea were delirious the rest of the way.
