USMNT star Brenden Aaronson scored his second Austrian Bundesliga goal of the season on Friday in a 2-1 comeback victory vs. Rapid Wien. After his team went behind in The18th minute (see what I did there), Aaronson led the charge in the second half.
In the 64th minute the “Medford Messi” equalized for Red Bull Salzburg with a well-placed finish. I must say I’m a big fan of the broadcast having a “Medford Messi” lower third graphic ready to go.

This was his first goal for Salzburg since September 2021. He nearly ended his scoring drought at the end of the first half with a long-range effort we would having been talking about for weeks if it went in.

The Red Bulls now sit at 15 victories on the season after 19 games. Up next will be the club’s biggest game in history as Salzburg hosts Bayern in the Champions League Round of 16. This is the first time an Austrian team has ever made it to the knockout stages of the competition.
If Aaronson scores against Bayern, you will be able to know from the sound of screams coming from The18 in Boulder, Colorado.
