Aficionados De Estados Unidos Se Burlan De Diego Lainez Horas Antes De Enfrentar A México

Entre una lesión que sufrió en los Juegos Olímpicos y la poca continuidad en el Real Betis, Diego Lainez ha tenido una temporada más bien discreta. Reflejo de todo esto es que el extremo no fue convocado por Gerardo Martino para el partido que enfrentará a México con Estados Unidos por las eliminatorias rumbo a Catar 2022.

Pese a su ausencia, sin embargo, los aficionados del USMNT no olvidan el daño que les ha proporcionado en el pasado. Y digo esto, porque es la única posible respuesta a los carteles que aparecieron hoy en Cincinnati, ciudad donde se jugará el partido, y que se mofan del jugador de manera muy poco amable. "Perdido. ¿Han visto a este niño?" es parte de la leyenda del afiche, en el que se burlan de su juvenil rostro y de su baja estatura. "La última vez que fue visto arreglaba su cabello y montaba banca en Betis", concluye el mensaje.

Si Lainez fuera irrelevante en la realidad, los aficionados del USMNT ni siquiera se hubieran molestado en tratar de ofenderlo.

Pero vivo está el recuerdo del amistoso de 2018 en que Lainez hizo un par de nudos con Matt Miazga y este, en un momento de idiotez, inmadurez y cobardía, le hizo notar la diferencia de estatura entre ambos: 1,93 m. vs 1,68 m.

Lainez también anotó en la final de la Nations League 2021, aunque ese día no es uno bueno para recordar entre los aficionados del Tri, ya que Estados Unidos finalmente se quedaría con el torneo.
