Depending on who you believe, Volvo didn't want to run the following Zlatan Ibrahimovic commercial because: A) Super Bowl commercial time slots are too expensive, or B) It is completely batsh*t insane. We won't go into too many details here. Just watch the video (it's amazing), which features Zlatan in Sweden doing Zlatan stuff while a cool version of the Swedish (unofficial) national anthem, Du Gamla, Du Fria, plays in the background. The folks over at KickTV decided to translate the Swedish into their own version of the anthem, creating possibly the weirdest, Zlatan-est video of all time:
And here's the original:
For those interested, here is the actual English translation of Du Gamla, Du Fria:
Thou ancient, thou free, thou mountainous north
Thou quiet, thou joyful [and] fair!
I greet thee, most beautiful land upon earth,
/:Thy sun, Thy sky, Thy meadows green.:/
Thou art enthroned upon memories of great olden days,
When honoured thy name flew across the earth,
I know that thou art and wilt remain what thou wast,
/:Yes, I want to live, I want to die in the North.:/
I forever want to serve thee, my beloved country,
Loyalty until death I want to swear thee,
Thy right I will protect with mind and with hand,
/: Thy banner, the heroes carry high.:/
With God I shall fight for home and for hearth,
for Sweden, the beloved native soil.
I trade thee not, for anything in a world
/: No, I want to live, I want to die in the North!:/
