USWNT Drawn Into Easy World Cup Group But Surprisingly Difficult Path In Knockout Rounds

The United States women’s national team is a favorite to win a record fourth Women’s World Cup next summer. After the 2019 Women's World Cup draw on Saturday, that status as favorite only increased, though the path after the group stage won’t be easy.

The USWNT was given a fairly easy group as things go for the tournament next summer in France. The reigning champions were placed in Group F along with Chile, Thailand and Sweden.

USWNT Sets Daunting 2019 Schedule To Prep For World Cup

The U.S. women’s national team should be prepared for the World Cup when June rolls around — the 2019 USWNT schedule is loaded. 

U.S. Soccer released the USWNT’s schedule in the lead-up to the 2019 World Cup on Thursday and the reigning world champions will face off against at least six teams ranked in the top 12 of FIFA’s world rankings. The team will play 10 matches in 10 different cities ahead of the World Cup, which begins on June 7.
