The MLS expansion team in Charlotte received disappointing news on July 18 that the club’s inaugural season was pushed back due to the coronavirus. The moping for the new Charlotte team only lasted a couple days as spirits are high once again. On Wednesday morning the name and logo were released and received mostly positive reviews.

The semifinals of the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup have been decided, and if they're anything like the quarterfinals, they'll be nail-biters.

As we say goodbye to many in Herriman, Utah, the pressure is on for the four remaining teams. The Portland Thorns, Houston Dash, Sky Blue FC and Chicago Red Stars have qualified for the semis that'll be played on Wednesday, July 22 on CBS All Access.

Chivas Coming For Our Hearts And Minds With Exclusive U.S. TV Deal And New Kits

In a world marked by unpredictability, chaos and ever-shifting plot lines, it’s only right that Liga MX returns this week with the beginning of the Apertura tournament (renamed Guardianes in honor of Mexico’s healthcare workers).

For supporters of Club Deportivo Chivas de Guadalajara, the return of the top flight can’t come soon enough. Chivas, after winning the 2017 Clausura, experienced a dramatic decline that cost Matías Almeyda his job while missing out on five consecutive liguillas, recording finishes of 13th, 17th, 11th, 14th and 10th.

Rookie’s Goal Sends Shockwaves Through NWSL As Reigning Champs Eliminated In First Round

The North Carolina Courage have been, by far, the best team in the NWSL. The two-time reigning league champs were the only team to go unbeaten and the only team to finish with a positive goal difference in the four-game preliminary round at the NWSL Challenge Cup.

But when it mattered most in 2020, North Carolina came up short.

Rookie Morgan Weaver scored a 68th-minute winner as Portland Thorns FC stunned the N.C. Courage 1-0 in the opening match of the knockout rounds of the NWSL Challenge Cup on Friday.

Cincinnati’s 19-Year-Old American Frankie Amaya Just Sent Atlanta United Packing

Frankie Amaya scored his first career goal in the 76th minute, and FC Cincinnati took advantage of short-handed Atlanta United to pull off a stunning 1-0 victory Thursday in the MLS is Back Tournament near Orlando.

The win was the first of the season for Cincinnati (1-0-3, 3 points), and an even bigger upset within Group E at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Cincinnati lost its opener 4-0 to rival Columbus, but prevailed thanks to an undisciplined Atlanta side that finished the match with nine men.

Hey Geoff Cameron, Please Stop Using Your Platform To Spread Harmful Misinformation

When it comes to his footballing abilities, Geoff Cameron is one of my favorite players of the last two decades. His versatility to play anywhere on the pitch for the Houston Dynamo from 2008-12 helped propel him onto the USMNT’s 2014 World Cup roster and a six-year stint with Stoke City in the Premier League.

Off the pitch, however, Cameron is now one of my least favorite players after spreading harmful misinformation on his Instagram account.
