Marc-André Ter Stegen Vs. Manuel Neuer Rivalry Adds Subplot To Barça Vs. Bayern

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen took on Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer in a public spat last year over the Germany goalkeeper's jersey and the confrontation will be played out on the pitch in Friday's Champions League quarterfinal.

Only Lionel Messi can rival Ter Stegen, 28, for the title of Barça's most decisive player in the last few seasons, but his heroics for his club have not been enough to overhaul Neuer, 34, on the international stage.

Ferguson Presents Klopp With Manager Of The Year Award, Says Klopp Called Him At 3 AM After Liverpool Title Win

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp was named League Managers' Association (LMA) manager of the year on Monday after guiding the Merseyside club to their first top-flight title in 30 years.

Klopp's Liverpool side won the Premier League title with seven games to spare and they finished the season 18 points clear at the top of the table.

The German coach pipped Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa, Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth and last year's winner Chris Wilder of Sheffield United to the Alex Ferguson Trophy — named after the former Manchester United manager.

The Natural Sound On Alexandre Lacazette’s Thunderbolt Is Incredible

With Serge Aurier on his back and Davinson Sánchez and Harry Winks converging, Alexandre Lacazette took two touches into space before rifling a 20-yard effort beyond Hugo Lloris to open the scoring in Sunday’s North London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The natural sound — enjoyed through the NBC Sports website stream — perfectly captured the violence of Lacazette’s punishing finish. The highlights provided by NBC and Telemundo include the simulated crowd noise, but Lacazette’s punt is still audible and the “SHWACK” of the net remains entirely satisfying.

Quique Setién Risks Wrath Of Zidane By Adding To Claims Of Referee Bias

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system is not being used correctly in LaLiga, Barcelona manager Quique Setién said on Monday following Real Madrid's controversial win at Real Sociedad.

Madrid beat Sociedad 2-1 to climb above Barcelona at the top of LaLiga but the home side were aggrieved because they had a goal ruled out by VAR for offside and Karim Benzema's winner stood after he appeared to control the ball with his arm.

Liverpool Held To Draw By Everton In Goalless Merseyside Derby

Liverpool may have to wait a little longer for their Premier League title celebrations after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Everton in the behind closed-doors Merseyside derby on Sunday.

But it could have been worse for the leaders after Tom Davies hit the post in the 80th minute for Everton, who will feel a little disappointed they didn't take full advantage of a below-par peformance from the European champions.

Liverpool Mayor Says Playing Matches At Neutral Stadiums Isn’t Necessary

Runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool should play Everton at Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby instead of the game being switched to a neutral venue as local authorities can now provide a safe environment, Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson said on Sunday.

Liverpool will resume their quest for a first top-flight title in 30 years against Everton on June 21 but the venue for the behind-closed-doors fixture was not confirmed when the league released its revised fixtures for the season's restart.

Cristiano Ronaldo Brings Back His Old Hair. The Nostalgia Is Overwhelming

Cristiano Ronaldo must have seen the hurtful comments about a photo taken of him in his car on his way to rejoin Juventus in training. The Portuguese star has decided to drop the man-bun and throw it old school with this early 2000s hairstyle.

Another European league looks set to restart play soon after the pandemic-enforced shutdown.

According to a report in the Ukrainian press, the country's Premier League has been given the green light to resume play this coming weekend. The Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) and the country's Ministry of Health decided after a meeting that the competition will be allowed to go ahead.

LaLiga Targets June 11 Return Date With Seville Derby Marking The Occasion

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has said he hopes a derby between Real Betis and Sevilla will kick the Spanish top-flight season back into action on June 11 after being paused for three months during the coronavirus pandemic.

"There is a possibility that there is a game on June 11, which would be the only match that night and perhaps there will be a tribute to all the people who have died (from the virus)," Tebas told Spanish television network Movistar on Sunday. "I hope that date can be confirmed and we would like the game to be the Seville derby, kicking off at 10pm."
