Qatar Announces Sex Ban Ahead Of World Cup

Qatar has been in the headlines recently as another of its rules for visiting fans ahead of the World Cup in late November has caught the public’s attention. After the recent reminders about Qatar’s ban on homosexuality, any single individuals who still wish to watch their team play in person have been warned to not have sex during their stay.

Away From Home Woes Continue For USMNT

Those who tuned in to the USMNT match against El Salvador last night expecting to see a soccer game may not have been able to recognize the final product on the pitch. U.S. Coach Gregg Berhalter previously stated his intention to use the game to evaluate players on the fringes of making the World Cup roster, but the conditions made that task a virtually impossible one.

The Evolution Of Official FIFA World Cup Posters Through The Years

Dating back to the inaugural FIFA World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930, each rendition of the tournament has been accompanied by an official poster from FIFA. Artists who’ve worked on these gorgeous designs include Guillermo Laborde (1930), Joan Miro (1982) and Annie Leibovitz (1986), to name just a few. Today, FIFA unveiled the official poster for the 2022 event in Qatar.

It's created by Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah and depicts traditional headwear being thrown in the air — a symbol of celebration and fandom across Qatar and the Arab world.

Qatar Says World Cup Will Be Carbon Neutral; Climate Advocates Disagree

DOHA — Climate advocates have cast doubt on Qatar's efforts to host soccer's first carbon-neutral FIFA World Cup by offseting or eliminating emissions that contribute to global warming, according to a report released Tuesday.

Organisers in the Gulf Arab state are omitting some greenhouse gas emissions from their calculations and will rely on flimsy carbon offsets to reach carbon neutrality, said the report, complied by Carbon Market Watch, an advocacy group.

Mexico Calls Up 38 Players For Friendlies And Nations League Games – Did They Forget About Chucky Lozano?

Mexico announced today the list of 38 players facing the upcoming FIFA international break and the beginning of the Concacaf Nations League. On paper, the squad is gigantic but ends up being reasonable, considering El Tri will be playing five games in just 18 days, and one of those matches — vs. Nigeria — will be too close to the end of the European season.

Miles Robinson Suffers Torn Achilles — Who Can Replace Starting CB At World Cup?

One of the most important things Gregg Berhalter and the USMNT established over the course of qualifying was the trusted centerback pairing of Miles Robinson and Walker Zimmerman. On Monday, however, Atlanta United confirmed that Robinson had suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon during Saturday's win over the Chicago Fire.
