Miles Robinson Suffers Torn Achilles — Who Can Replace Starting CB At World Cup?

One of the most important things Gregg Berhalter and the USMNT established over the course of qualifying was the trusted centerback pairing of Miles Robinson and Walker Zimmerman. On Monday, however, Atlanta United confirmed that Robinson had suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon during Saturday's win over the Chicago Fire.

Gregg Berhalter Pays Tribute To Scott Van Pelt’s Dog With USMNT Jersey

Gregg Berhalter was invited on ESPN’s flagship SportsCenter show to talk about the U.S. men’s national team 200 days before the Americans open the World Cup in Qatar. The USMNT coach talked plenty of soccer and did his best to dumb it down for the average SportsCenter viewer. As the interview concluded, host Scott Van Pelt showed the USMNT jersey Berhalter had given him. It was far too small for the 6-6 anchor and not quite sized for any of his three children, either. It was for SVP’s beloved dog Otis.

Van Pelt was nearly brought to tears.

Ukrainian Soldiers Tell National Teamers How Much They Want Ukraine At World Cup

LJUBLJANA — Ukraine will pour their heart and soul into ensuring they win their World Cup playoff matches as soldiers repelling the Russian invasion want the team to do everything they can to qualify, midfielder Taras Stepanenko said on Friday.

Ukraine, who last played against Bosnia & Herzegovina in a 2-0 victory in November, faces Scotland in a World Cup playoff semifinal on June 1, with the winner set to face Wales for a place in the finals against the U.S., England and Iran in Qatar later this year.

Chile Is Officially Asking FIFA For Ecuador's Spot In The World Cup – Here Is Why

After a mediocre qualifiers campaign on the field, Chile is now trying to get a spot in the next World Cup through a legal maneuver that will see Ecuador missing the tournament.

The Chilean soccer federation filed an official claim asking FIFA to investigate if Ecuador fielded an ineligible player in a series of games of the last CONMEBOL qualifying process, which ended a month ago.

The player named in the complaint is Byron Castillo. His sin? According to the Chilean accusation, he is not Ecuadorian but Colombian.

Maradona's ‘Hand Of God’ Jersey Becomes Most Expensive Sports Memorabilia Item Ever

The shirt worn by Diego Maradona when he scored two of the most famous goals in soccer history was sold for $8.93 million on Wednesday, marking a new auction record for an item of sports memorabilia.

Maradona wore Argentina's No. 10 shirt in the 1986 World Cup quarterfinal against England in Mexico. Six minutes into the second half he put his team ahead by punching the ball into the net for what became known as the "Hand of God" goal.

Four minutes later Maradona dribbled from his own half to score a goal widely considered one of the greatest in World Cup history.

What's Going On With Giovani Dos Santos?

Giovani dos Santos is one of the most talented Mexican players of this century. I mean, nobody can doubt his skills as a baller and his iconic moments playing for El Tri, but at the same time, we all can agree on how exasperating and inconsistent his club resumé has been, which includes Barcelona, Tottenham, Villarreal, LA Galaxy and Ipswich Town, among others.

Proof of this erratic and unpredictable career is the fact most people probably don't know where he is playing right now or if he is playing at all.

México Is Luring The U.S.-Born Cowell Brothers To Play For El Tri

The rivalry between México and United States is not only in the field. It's becoming more and more common to see both nations battling to convince young, talented dual-citizen soccer players to commit to their programs. Ricardo Pepi, Julián Araujo and Jonathan Gómez are the most high-profile cases last year, but the list grows and grows down the line. One example is the Cowell brothers, Cade and Chance.
