Canadian Kadeisha Buchanan Wins Fourth Women’s Champions League Title
Kadeisha Buchanan won her fourth consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League title — Lyon’s seventh overall — after Lyon defeated Wolfsburg 3-1 in the European final on Sunday.
Buchanan is from Toronto, Ontario and is a defender for the Canada women’s national team. She’s made 101 appearances for Canada, tallying 96 starts, four goals and three assists.
With Lyon, she appeared in all seven Champions League matches this season, including five starts, and scored her first-ever UWCL goal against Fortuna Hjørring.

On Friday night, the world was stunned and saddened to learn of the death of Chadwick Boseman, the beloved actor who played everyone from Jackie Robinson to James Brown to Thurgood Marshall. Boseman was perhaps most cherished for his role as T’Challa, otherwise known as the superhero Black Panther.
Boseman died at 43 following a four-year battle with colon cancer on Friday, shocking a public that had no idea he had been diagnosed with stage three cancer in 2016.
