Maradona Says It Hurt His Soul To Give The FIFA Best Men's Player Award To Ronaldo And Not Messi

Diego Maradona is a sensitive man. On Monday he caught some feelings at the FIFA The Best awards ceremony after giving the FIFA Best Men's Player award to Cristiano Ronaldo and not fellow Argentinian Lionel Messi.

"To give the Best [award] to Ronaldo and not be able to give it to Messi hurt my soul," Maradona said to TyC Sports.

Luckily for Maradona, he and Messi did get to share a tender moment at the awards gala.

Minnesota United Player Scores Incredible Long-Range Stunner, Does Not Seem To Give AF

Minnesota United didn’t have much to play for in its final match of its inaugural season other than as a possible spoiler against San Jose on Sunday. Maybe that explains the reaction of Jerome Thiesson, who scored a cracking shot from outside the box and then didn’t seem to give a single f*ck.

Early Goalkeeper Celebration Leads To Tragedy In Penalty Shootout

There are many idioms about celebrating too early, so just pick your favorite. Backspin is no one's friend. It will quite literally come back to hurt you eventually. It is cruel without discretion.

I hope this poor goalie learned his lesson. It's difficult not to get caught up in the moment in a situation like this, but you just have to finish the play. If you don't, backspin will come along and murder your dreams.

No One Is Buying The New San Diego NASL Team’s Explanation Behind Its Name

Will Ferrell is set to join the MLS ranks next year with LAFC, which he is part owner of, but he may indirectly join the NASL in 2018 too. San Diego’s new NASL team announced its name on Wednesday but no one is buying the official explanation behind the name 1904 FC, which seems to be a veiled reference to the 2004 classic Ferrell comedy “Anchorman.”

According to the club’s website the name is inspired for and by the people of San Diego.

Wenger Watch Europa League Special: Olivier Giroud To The Rescue!

The bad taste in Arsenal fans' mouths from losing to Watford this weekend is still there, but it was diluted a bit when Arsenal's extremely handsome Frenchman went inverted to lift the Gunners over Red Star Belgrade.

Coventry Fan Spends 20 Seconds On Pitch Trying To Win Ball Back And Berating Players

With Coventry City trailing Forest Green 1-0 in English League Two football on Tuesday, one Coventry supporter took issue with his side’s inability to win the ball back and invaded the pitch to help apply pressure near the corner flag. Play appropriately stopped, but with security absolutely nowhere in sight, the fan proceeded to berate his team’s players before showing himself back to his seat.

The lack of security is obviously disturbing, but the hairdryer treatment was somewhat deserved with the team having failed to score in three straight matches now.
