Weekend Preview: Can Chelsea Save The Rest Of Their Season?

Last week was a struggle for me as I only got two matches correct (thank you to Benfica and Portland!). This week the focus will be on England where Chelsea and Manchester United attempt to salvage disappointing seasons by moving forward into the FA Cup semifinals while the biggest match of the year in Mexico takes place in Guadalajara.

Here are the five, can’t miss matches of the weekend:

1. Everton v. Chelsea, Saturday 12:30 p.m. EST, Fox Sports 2

Chiellini Has A Strategy For Ronaldo, But Just Prays When He Guards Messi

30-year-old Giorgio Chiellini has been around the block a few times. As a central defender for Juventus and the Italian national team, he might as well be charged with upholding all that is holy, right, and effective in defense (I’m imagining him in an Atlas-esque pose, with a giant globe above him emblazoned with the word “Defense”). So when he tells us what it’s like to guard Messi and Ronaldo, we listen. We listen real good.

How To Play Like Zlatan Ibrahimovic

He's one of the world's most talented and outspoken footballers. Deep down, everyone just wants to play and act a little more like Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Here are eight steps that will allow you to play like the Swedish captain.

Barcelona Reveal Designs For New Home Stadium

The grandest football stadium in all of Europe is about to get a little bigger. Barcelona have released their ambitious plans to remodel and increase the capacity of their Camp Nou stadium by the start of the 2021/22 season.

The renovations will see the overall capacity of the footballing cathedral increase from 99,354 to 105,000. The atmosphere and noise generated by 105,000 supporters will also be cranked up a notch with the addition of a roof which will cover the seats around the entirety of the stadium, ensuring that the noise within cannot get out.

England's League 2 Just Produced The Goal Of The Season

Portsmouth F.C.’s Michael Doyle allowed beleaguered supporters of the club to maintain their belief that they’ll begin their slow ascent back up the English league system after his wonder strike secured a 3-1 victory over Accrington Stanley.

Portsmouth are two-time FA Cup winners, their most recent success coming in 2008, but have suffered three relegations since their 2009/10 Premier League season. Mired in League 2 following severe debt and multiple bouts with the administration, things are finally looking up for the largest fan-owned football club in England.

Madrid Fans Are Wrong To Use Cristiano Ronaldo As A Scapegoat

We previously wrote that Real Madrid fans are the worst fans in the world after they jeered Cristiano Ronaldo before their game against Celta Vigo. Ronaldo went on to score four goals in a 7-1 demolition, but that didn't seem to matter.

Remember That Time Kendall Jenner And Rihanna Showed Up At A PSG Match?

Paris Fashion Week, which took place earlier this month, has bled into the world of soccer. Last time Paris Fashion Week happened, in October, Supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner showed of on the game of PSG against Marseille at Parc des Princes in Paris, France.

They brought luck to the team, as Les Parisiens won over Marseille, 2-1, in Ligue 1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic became PSG's all-time leading scorer.

Oh, and Rihanna was there too, plus former Brazilian superstar Ronaldo.

Michael Doyle Scores Amazing Volley Against Accrington Stanley

With Portsmouth already holding a 2 - 0 lead, Michael Doyle put the cherry on top with an incredible volley. Battling against Accrington Stanley, the former Leeds and Sheffield United midfielder latched on to a cleared set piece and hammered it home from 35 yards out. The 43rd minute goal put Portsmouth up 3 - 0 going into halftime and would go on to win 3 - 1.

Champions League Round of 16 Goals - March 9, 2016

Champions League Round of 16, Leg 2 continued today with PSG taking on Chelsea and Benfica matching up against Zenit. For PSG, Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring in the 16th minute increasing their aggregate lead, 3 - 1. Diego Costa scored 11 minutes later to pull Chelsea within one, however Zlatan Ibrahimovic put Chelsea away with a 67th minute goal. PSG advanced on aggregate 4 - 2. Coming into Leg 2, Zenit was down 1 - 0 on aggregate and briefly tied the aggregate at 1 on a Hulk goal in the 69th minute.

Ronaldo Was Brilliant Again, But Ramos Still Had To Defend Him From Real Madrid Fans

Sergio Ramos has been at Real Madrid for a long, long time. He has seen enough of the crowd at the Bernabeu to know what’s good from bad, and his latest quotes defending Cristiano Ronaldo speak to that. Ronaldo was booed by his own fans on Tuesday despite scoring the opening goal against AS Roma. Sergio Ramos tells Real Madrid fans to be more supportive, but he understands where they are coming from (H/T Bleacher Report).
