PSG’s Aminata Diallo Arrested For Allegedly Hiring Men To Attack Teammate

On Tuesday, PSG hammered Real Madrid 4-0 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with 26-year-old France international Aminata Diallo starting in the defensive midfield role.

Thirty-one-year-old France international Kheira Hamraoui — Diallo’s direct competition for the spot — had started PSG’s first two UWCL games, but Hamraoui had been ruled out of the match due to injuries sustained following an assault by two masked individuals last week that left her requiring stitches.

FA Cup First Round Highlights: Upsets, Golazos, And Tidbits From Football's Best Competition

After three months and six rounds of qualifying, the first round of the FA Cup Proper began over the weekend. For many (including myself) the FA Cup represents the purest form of footballing competition.

More than 70 teams play for the chance to earn the title of English champions, and while the title invariably goes to a Premier League side, the early rounds of the cup provide an unfiltered look at the roots of the sport.

It's a chance to watch non-league teams you've never heard of before playing the biggest match in club history in front of a thousand fans.

PARIS — Midfielder Paul Pogba left training with a possible thigh injury ahead of France's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on Saturday.

PSG’s Brazilian Director And Argentine Coach Have Wildly Different Takes On Messi’s Call-Up

Much has been said about Lionel Messi’s slow start to life in Paris, which is basically just to say that the 34-year-old hasn’t played much. Given his reluctance to ever miss a minute with Barcelona — regardless of whether it was a Champions League or second round Copa del Rey match — it’s been weird seeing Messi go over one-third of the league season without scoring or assisting yet.

Quick, Everyone Celebrate With A Hat Before They Change The Rules On Us!

Watching an entirely unhealthy amount of soccer this weekend, I realized there’s an unexplored frontier of goal celebrations that the rule makers are yet to crack down on — the act of putting a cap on one’s head and acting a fool.

Suárez And Griezmann Score Beauties But Atlético Suffers Unreal Collapse Against Valencia

VALENCIA - Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann scored a sensational individual goal against Valencia on Sunday but the LaLiga champions let a two-goal lead slip in stoppage time to draw 3-3 on Sunday.

Valencia were trailing 3-1 when seven minutes of time were added on but Hugo Duro scored twice in the final stretch of the game to salvage a point, to the delight of their raucous home fans.

Gianluca Busio And Venezia Stun Roma With Comeback To Win Five-Goal Thriller

VENICE - AS Roma’s slump continued with a 3-2 Serie A defeat by lowly Venezia on Sunday, as the hosts recovered from surrendering the lead before halftime to launch a sensational second half fightback.

José Mourinho’s side have one win in their last seven games in all competitions and have dropped out of the top four after picking up four points from their last five league games.

“This is not the year to dream big, but it is up to me to raise the ambition and motivation. Our goal is fourth place, but for some reason we have slid to sixth," Mourinho told DAZN.

Dortmund manager Marco Rose said on Friday that Reyna has suffered setbacks and that the injury also affected nerves and a tendon.

Xavi Must Be Scratching His Head After Watching Barcelona Blow 3-0 Lead Vs. Celta Vigo

VIGO — Barcelona threw away a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 at Celta Vigo in LaLiga on Saturday in a chaotic game which underlined the scale of the task facing incoming coach Xavi Hernandez.

Celta captain Iago Aspas completed a remarkable second-half comeback from the hosts by scoring in the fifth minute of added time after he had pulled their first goal back in the 52nd and Nolito had struck in the 74th to set up a tense finish.
