Brighton smashes three past lackluster Liverpool and sit just outside of top five

BRIGHTON — Brighton & Hove Albion winger Solly March netted twice early in the second half and set up another goal in a 3-0 home win over a sluggish Liverpool on Saturday that lifts them above the Reds to seventh in the Premier League standings.

The victory was Brighton's first over Liverpool in the top flight and they deserved to take all three points once March helped them convert their dominance in possession into goals.

Controversial comeback sees Red Devils win Manchester Derby with late Marcus Rashford goal

MANCHESTER — In-form Marcus Rashford scored a late winner as Manchester United came from behind to beat rivals Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday, dragging Erik ten Hag's rejuvenated side back into the Premier League title race sooner than anyone expected.

England forward Rashford completed the turnaround eight minutes from time to score for the seventh successive match in all competitions, the first United player to do so since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.

Concacaf champion Seattle Sounders are on the path to face Real Madrid at the Club World Cup

Seattle Sounders learned on Friday how their path at the Club World Cup looks. And to be honest, it's pretty exciting!

Following FIFA's official draw, the current Concacaf champions and the first team in MLS history in the tournament is just one game away from a potential clash against Spanish giant Real Madrid.

Seattle Sounders vs Real Madrid potential game

Seattle Sounders will debut in the Club World Cup – held in Morocco – on Feb. 4 against the winner of the game between Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly and New Zealander hope Auckland City on Feb. 1.

João Félix makes Chelsea debut, fails to score several chances and then gets straight red card

When Chelsea signed Portuguese talent João Félix from Atlético Madrid on loan I don’t think they imagined his debut would have gone as poorly as it did during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Fulham on Wednesday.

Félix joined the Blues just 30 hours before he was given his first start. With Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling and a litany of injuries plaguing the Blues they really didn’t have a choice.

There were glimpses of talent from the 23-year-old as he recorded six shots and four on target. His finishing wasn’t up to snuff but at least he was creating chances.

Watch all 11 Puskás Award finalists right here, right now

I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast, but if you've been following The18 for the past year then you've already seen all 11 FIFA Puskas Award nominees. We have exquisite taste like that.

But in case you can't remember the strikes — arriving as early as Apr. 2 and as late as Kylian Mbappé's side-volley against Argentina in the World Cup final on Dec. 18 — here's a trip down memory lane with videos that you can watch right here, right now. I've also included a link to what The18 said at the time.

"Rata de cloaca", "enano hormonado" – Los insultos que Messi recibía al interior del Barcelona

La última temporada de Lionel Messi en Barcelona fue una verdadera bolsa de gatos. Una renuncia por burofax, la filtración de su astronómico salario y campañas de la directiva del propio club para difamarlo online fueron parte de la tapicería que quedó expuesta a los ojos públicos.

Pero no fue todo.

Jesse Marsch condemns Leeds chant about Gnonto's Willy

Since Jesse Marsch brought Wilfried Gnonto to Leeds United on deadline day in August, the young Italian has been a fan favorite. It wasn’t long after the young Italian made his debut in late October that the Elland Road faithful rewarded him with his own song. Unfortunately, the chant has quickly become a source of embarrassment for the club from West Yorkshire.

Nottingham Forest-Wolves League Cup shootout was full of mockery and shithousery

Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton’s League Cup quarterfinal, in terms of entertainment, exceeded expectations Wednesday night.

The match was a classic game of English soccer: cold and rainy but with a great atmosphere nonetheless. Wolves (with the goalscoring return of Raúl Jiménez) and Forest both managed to get on the scoreboard, but the game stood level at 1-1 after extra time so a winner had to be determined from the spot.

Shakira's new song is a studs-up tackle on Gerard Piqué

Shakira's wounds are not closed. Or at least that's the feeling after listening to the lyrics of her new song, where justifiably there's not even an ounce of mercy for her ex, former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué.

The couple split last summer after reports showed Piqué was cheating on her.

The Colombian singer subtly alluded to the break-up a few months ago with the release of Monotonia, but in "BZRP Music Session #53" — in which she teamed up with Argentine producer Bizarrap — the pop icon went nuclear.

Tasty Premier League weekend with Manchester and North London derbies on the menu

MANCHESTER - Manchester United were outclassed by Manchester City in the last local derby but the mood could not be more different as they prepare to host their city rivals in the Premier League on Saturday in the middle of a remarkable run of form.

League leaders Arsenal, meanwhile, face another test of their credentials in a derby of their own away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday on a weekend where local rivalries could have a huge say in the title race.
