The Time When English Teams Could Win The Milk Cup

Aston Villa defeated Leicester City 2-1 on Tuesday to advance to the final of the English Football League competition in hopes of lifting the Carabao Cup. The competition has seen many different sponsorships come and go as Carabao, a Thai energy drink, hasn’t always sponsored the competition. There once was a time teams raised the EFL Milk Cup.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane and review some of the fun EFL Cup names.

Jurgen Klopp Couldn’t Care Less About The FA Cup

Shrewsbury Town has created one of the biggest talking points in Liverpool’s seemingly golden season. The Reds were handed a surprise 2-2 draw in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday. Now they will have to partake in a replay, but it seems Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t too interested in the FA Cup.

Player Sent Off After Receiving Three Cards In The Same Passage Of Play

After all the acclaim and praise that Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde received for his tactical red card in the Spanish Super Cup final, it’s only right that we highlight this draw-preserving bit of the dark arts from Garforth Town’s Alex Low.

Chelsea Becomes First Premier League Club To Go Vegan

With the transfer ban on Chelsea lifted and the team’s recent struggles, the Blues have their eyes on acquiring new assets in the transfer window. But a vegan-only kiosk might be the greatest acquisition thus far.

On Tuesday, Chelsea hosted London-rival Arsenal and looked to bounce back after losing to Newcastle during the weekend. The Blues secured one measly point after playing the majority of the match with a man advantage courtesy of a David Luiz red card.

Terry Jones, Monty Python Star And Karl Marx On The Pitch, Dies At 77

The world lost a comedic genius on Tuesday night as Terry Jones, founder of Monty Python, passed away at the age of 77 following a battle with a rare form of dementia.

Everton Uses Adorably Haunting Children’s Drawings For Matchday Graphics

Everton took a different approach to the tired method of simply showing your players’ individual photos for in-match graphics, team announcements and substitutions on Tuesday night.

The club allowed students from Linacre Primary School to visit Finch Farm for a drawing session that resulted in the images used across Goodison Park, the match day program and the club’s official website and social media accounts during Tuesday’s Premier League match against Newcastle United.

The resulting images are equal parts adorable and haunting. Jordan Pickford is an absolute unit.

Alisson Provides Assist For Mo Salah And Is First To Congratulate Him After Sprinting 100 Yards

Liverpool’s title procession continued on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Anfield that was bookended by Virgil van Dijk’s header in the 14th minute and Mohamed Salah’s strike at the death. With 64 points from 22 matches, Liverpool’s performance so far is the best in the history of Europe’s top five leagues.

19-Year-Old English Phenom Rhian Brewster Off The Mark At Swansea City

Rhian Brewster wasted little time in scoring on his home debut for Swansea, striking in the 19th minute to bring the Swans level with Wigan at 1-1. The 19-year-old did well to sense an opportunity and made a perfectly timed run onto fellow loanee Conor Gallagher's slip pass into the box, burying his shot in the lower right corner for his first senior goal.

He was named Swansea fans' Man of the Match for his performance in the 2-1 victory over Wigan which saw the Swans move up to fifth place in the Championship.

Bournemouth’s Steve Cook Makes Incredible Save — Too Bad He’s No Goalie

Bournemouth’s Steve Cook made one of the top saves of the day, springing up from his arse to his bat away an effort from Norwich, turning the shot onto the crossbar and saving a goal.

Unfortunately for the Cherries, Cook is no goalkeeper.

Cook, a center back, was sent off for denying a goal from Ondrej Duda in the 31st minute on Saturday, taking a page out of Luis Suarez’s playbook. But unlike Suarez for Uruguay in 2010, things didn’t work out so well for Cook and Bournemouth.

Norwich Looks To Transfer Market For Inspiration

Norwich City has ventured into the transfer market this month in a bid to boost its chances of Premier League survival. Manager Daniel Farke has brought in Ondrej Duda from Hertha Berlin and Hoffenheim's Lukas Rupp in hopes they will be able to help turn around the fortunes of the struggling Canaries.

Duda arrives on a loan until the end of the season, while Rupp was purchased outright for $570,000. Their signings continue the trend of Farke scouting the German leagues he knows so well; the two represent his 11th and 12th additions from Germany since his 2017 arrival.
