In a sequence of events that involved one man taking a ball to the face, another shanking the hell out of an overhead kick and a third connecting sweetly with a chilena of his own, we witnessed football’s most spectacular sight three times inside five seconds in the video above.

It’s not often you encounter a team with this kind of chutzpah. Usually, someone would opt for an approach other than the most notoriously advanced skill in the game, but these boys showed that anything other than a bicycle kick is simply a waste of time.

Bayern Munich has only just returned from winter break training in Doha, Qatar, where 18-year-old Alphonso Davies got his first taste of action with the Bavarian giants. The $22 million Canadian international had a breakthrough 2018 with the Vancouver Whitecaps — scoring eight goals, being named to the MLS All-Star Game and receiving Vancouver’s Player of the Year award — and his immense talent has already impressed the likes of Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Niklas Sule and, most importantly, boss Niko Kovac.

As if you needed more proof, the left foot of Lionel Messi is an otherworldly thing. Even if Pele’s right (he’s not), and Messi only has one leg, one skill and doesn’t head the ball well, this clip from Barcelona’s recent open door training session at the Miniestadi just goes to show that who cares.
