Fans in Peru just witnessed perhaps the most bizarre and hilarious red card you’ve ever seen.
During the national cup match between Atletico Awajun and Cantorcillo FC, Awajun player Sebastian Muñoz was sent off for ‘relieving himself’ on the pitch in one of the strangers moments of the year. Well, he had the decency to turn around, at least.

When Muñoz was responsible for taking a corner kick, play was paused by the referee to provide medical attention for Cantorcillo’s goalkeeper Lucho Ruiz.
With play not looking to resume any time soon, Muñoz quickly walked to a fence next to the corner flag, urinating just a couple yards away from the pitch.

A player from the opposition quickly noticed Muñoz and did not think twice about notifying the referee of what Muñoz was doing. The stadium’s announcer, who is heard through the broadcast but also around the stands, also confirmed Muñoz was relieving himself — sentencing the player to one of the strangest red cards ever.
The referee quickly shifted his attention to Muñoz and showed him a straight red card despite the collective confusion amongst the players on the field.
When you have to go, you have to go.
