Who is Hervé Renard, potential manager for the USMNT?
Renard (55) is a highly-regarded French manager known for his success in international soccer, particularly with African nations.
He made history by leading Zambia to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 2012 and replicated this success with the Ivory Coast in 2015, making him the first coach to win the tournament with two different countries — building a reputation for transforming underperforming teams into champions.
Renard most recently managed Saudi Arabia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, leading the country to their historic turn-around victory against eventual tournament champions Argentina — one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history.

The announcement of the USMNT’s new head coach will likely come after the Summer Olympics, with U.S. Soccer sporting director, Matt Crocker, expecting to officially name the new manager in September.
