The Euro is already capturing one-of-a-kind moments.
Switzerland were able to snatch their first three points of Euro 2024 after defeating Hungary in a very entertaining start to the trio of group stage matches on Saturday, with Swiss striker Breel Embolo scoring one of the most peculiar goals you’ll see in the tournament.
Embolo scores winner for Switzerland with leg brace coming off his foot
In the closing minutes of the match and with a desperate Hungary in the attack looking for the equalizer, a clearance to the middle from the defense, received by Embolo at the top of the box, sent the 27-year-old clear on goal for a cold lobbed finish.
However, while he was setting up his shot, Embolo’s leg brace (wrapped around his thigh) slid off his leg and was caught on his foot until he was able to shake it off before scoring. This could’ve ended in a hilarious fail compilation video.

Embolo just couldn’t pass up on scoring in yet another Euros. Even if his leg brace tried to get in the way.
The AS Monaco forward’s goal was the third of Switzerland’s 3-1 win over Hungary, with the Swiss now standing in second-place under group-leaders Germany.
A clean Kwadwo Duah finish opened the scoring in the 12th minute. A curled-shot from outside the box scored by Michel Aebischer before the half doubled their lead.
